Into the Light : A Tale of Hope, has been delighting audiences of all-ages for twenty years, and has become a beacon of holiday cheer. The fairytale-like story of Into the Light follows the young girl Lucia as she travels through the dark winter landscape seeking joy and hope. Along the way, Lucia and the audience encounter many new friends that invite them in to celebrate the holidays together. 

 
Into the Light wraps up all the magic of Arm-of-the-Sea-Theater’s giant puppets into the celebratory vision of The Vanaver Caravan’s world dance repertoire. The performance raises our spirits and awareness for cultural traditions, using the winter holiday season as common ground. 
 
The 2026 production of Into the Light includes a multi-generational cast of dancers, singers, and live musicians, with special guests:

The Vanaver Caravan is a Hudson Valley-based nonprofit organization that performs original, world-infused choreography and music, both locally and internationally. Drawing from their ever-expanding repertoire of dance and music traditions, The company also provides cross-cultural dance education through in-school arts residencies and after-school classes. Wherever The Vanaver Caravan goes, dance and music follows, inspiring people in every walk of life to join together in song, dance, and celebration. The Vanaver Caravan is a 2026 NYSCA grant recipient for Arts Education, Touring Performances & Community Programming.
