Family Circle: Barnhill Movement Collective
Family Saturday, April 3 2027 • 2:00pm • FREE with RSVP
Part of the Family Circle Series
The Barnhill Movement Collective (BMC) is a professional contemporary and physical theater dance company based in New York’s Capital Region, operating under Create A Space NOW, a performing arts, education, and social justice platform, founded by Broadway performer, educator, and activist Hettie Barnhill.
BMC creates movement work rooted in human connection, transforming performance into dialogue and dance into a tool for social change.
The company represents a diverse and multigenerational group of artists from the Capital Region. The repertoire draws from a wide range of dance and movement traditions, including contemporary, African, modern, and hip-hop techniques, and often incorporates elements of physical theater and storytelling.
Together, the artists of BMC explore works that are reflective, transformative, and deeply human, using performance to both mirror and reimagine our society, creating experiences that challenge, heal, and entertain.
About Family Circle:
The Egg’s Family Circle is a monthly series designed especially for families to connect, create, and experience the arts together.
Held on the first Saturday of every month at 2PM in The Egg’s lobby, this free program offers a welcoming, informal environment where kids and caregivers alike can feel at home.
This isn’t a concert where kids have to sit quietly; each program is purposefully interactive, celebrating arts from around the globe with creatives who are based right here in the Capital Region.
The Egg’s Family Circle Series is supported by M&T Bank
